Regent Seven Seas Cruises has added a second Cuba voyage, the Cuban Exploration sailing, from October 22 to November 1, 2019.

The Cuban Exploration sailing is a 10-night roundtrip from Miami, and follows Regent’s other Cuban sailing, on the Seven Seas Voyager from March 12-22, which was introduced last month and has since sold out.

Guests aboard either ship will have a chance to explore Havana through Regent’s OFAC-compliant tours. Regent also has exclusive rights for private visits to the Fabrica de Arte Cubano outside of general operating hours. Guests will visit the galleries and other areas, which include a cultural centre, dance space, and cinema, with a FAC specialised guide, and will then be able to meet showcased artists.

Guests will also sail to Cuba’s second largest city, Santiago de Cuba. They will also visit Castillo de San Pedro de la Roca, and the Cementerio Santa Ifigenia, where Cuban heroes Jose Marti and Emilio Bicardi are both buried, as well as the Iris Jazz Club, one of a few venues in the city that only features jazz. Guests can also experience Plaza de Marte, or Freedom Square, which pays tribute to the independence of Cuba.

In Cienfuegos, on Cuba’s southern coast, guests will tour Anastasio Cardenas tobacco factory, and the old colonial town where they can view the Arch of Triumph, and Casa del Fundador, as well as the grand Tomas Terry Theatre which overlooks Jose Matri Park. Cienfuegos’ city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Seven Seas Voyager will also call on Isla de la Juventad in March, 2019. The island is home to the Presidio Modelo, which is now a museum but was once the prison that held both Fidel and Raul Castro prior to the Cuban Revolution.
