Amex GBT closes HRG deal Today's News

American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) has successfully completed the acquisition of Hogg Robinson Group plc (HRG) for an estimated £400m (R7bn).

HRG will remain in place as the integration process begins.

Announcing the closing of the deal, Doug Anderson, ceo of American Express GBT, said: “I look forward to integrating our companies and combining the vast experience and expertise of both. We’re proud to deliver enhanced value to all stakeholders.”

David Radcliffe, ceo of HRG, said: “The two businesses are focused on delivering further value to clients and travellers. I look forward to working with the talented individuals on the American Express GBT Board, and growing a best-in-class travel management company.”

In a media statement, American Express GBT said that, from today, integration work would move ahead and that the company “will seek to accelerate growth by utilising the complementary footprints of each, combining and leveraging existing infrastructure and technology capabilities”.
