MSC Cruises has signed Memorandum of Understanding for the construction a new cruise terminal in PortMiami, Florida.

The company also signed an agreement for extended preferential berthing rights at PortMiami with Miami-Dade County. PortMiami is the company’s exclusive home-port in the US, and the new agreement extends its existing Saturday preferential berthing rights to Sundays.

The new Terminal AAA will be able to accommodate MSC Cruises’ next generation of ships, which are still under construction and will carry up to 7 000 guests. The terminal is expected to be completed in October, 2022.

The MSC Seaside, which debuted in 2017, sails from Miami to the Caribbean year round, from the recently completed Terminal F. The MSC Divina sails seasonally to the Caribbean from October to March, while the MSC Armonia will join MSC Cruises’ North-American fleet with year-round cruises to Havana in December. The MSC Meraviglia will join the other three ships at PortMiami in November, 2019.
