The Westin is set to undergo a soft refurb, the first in 15 years.

Leon Meyer, gm of the Westin, said the 483 rooms would be refurbished in a two-phased approach over the next two years. “We will be doing two floors at a time, starting at the end of May. We are confident that the contractors will be done with approximately 45 percent of the rooms by October.” The second phase will begin in April or May 2019.

“While the Cape Town market is somewhat depressed, it is the best time to take bold steps and position ourselves to be ready for the future. The market change has forced people to look at business, and to think out of the box when it comes to serving their clients,” Leon added.
