A new luxury boutique hotel will open in Victoria Falls in early 2019, adjacent to the Zambezi National Park.

“The Mbano Manor Hotel’s vision is to cater for the top-end of the international market with an upmarket and deluxe offering in Victoria Falls, in a forest setting only four kilometres away from the world-famous landmark,” says Mati Nyazema, a Zimbabwe-born global tourism businesswoman, who is the driving force behind the property.

“Nature took precedence in the design of Mbano hotel. Hence, buildings were carefully positioned to ensure minimal disruption of the original forest, dominated by large ancient teak trees,” says Mati. The hotel has country-style architecture and is surrounded by expansive gardens, leading to a swimming pool. The 19 luxury rooms comprise 18 standard suites featuring high rafters, open ceilings, large windows, a relaxing lounge area, spacious bedroom, modern bathroom and dressing room, along with air-conditioning, TV, WiFi and private veranda.

The Presidential Villa is in a private corner of the estate, and has its own gardens, plunge pool, king-size bedroom, separate lounge, boardroom, double-volume bathroom and private access.

Facilities at the hotel will include a large reception area, lounge, restaurant and curio shop.

Zimbabwean Tourism Authority coo, Givemore Chidzidzi, says: “Tourism plays a critical role in the development of our economy by luring foreign direct investment and the much-needed foreign currency, which results in job creation, improvement of our social and economic life. We look forward to welcoming Mbano Manor Hotel’s guests and making their visit to our beautiful country unforgettable.”

“We see a great opportunity to leverage the new-found optimism enjoyed by Zimbabwe following recent positive political and economic developments. Mbano Manor Hotel is ready to unleash the abundant luxury tourism opportunities on offer in the Victoria Falls and greater Zimbabwe region,” concludes Mati.

The rate is US$950 (R11 400) per person per night, for full board (accommodation, meals, beverages and transfers).
