Carlson Rezidor will debut in Cameroon in 2019 when it opens the Radisson Blu Hotel & Apartments Douala. This will be the 30th country in Africa for the group and will take its African portfolio to 83 properties, with 17 500 hotel rooms in operation or under construction.

“As the ideal showcase, the hotel will strongly support the demand for our Radisson Blu Hotel and Apartment product across the African region. Once open it will be the finest upper upscale product in the financial hub of Cameroon and an important addition to our Central African Radisson Blu portfolio,” said Andrew McLachlan, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group senior vice president, business development, Africa & Indian Ocean.

The 150-room hotel will be in the most sought-after business district between the port and the main highway, allowing for easy access to the Douala International Airport and across the city. It will offer a mix of standard rooms as well as studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. All-day dining, a lobby bar and Destination Sky Bar and Restaurant will feature, as will a wellness spa and fitness centre. A conference room and four meeting rooms will comprise the meeting and events area.
