SAA has identified who should be its next ceo and has informed Finance Minister, Malusi Gigaba

This comes after the Minister said on Thursday that the new ceo for the embattled national carrier would be announced by the end of the month.

Previously, Vodacom Group executive, Vuyani Jarana, was rumoured to be the leading candidate for the position.

“Having followed due process the SAA board has made a submission to me and stated their preferred candidate,” the Minister says. “The next Cabinet meeting should finalise the matter and we will announce the name.”

Tlali Tlali, spokesperson of SAA, could not confirm that the announcement would be made by the end of the month. “The Minister is the shareholder representative and if the shareholder says the announcement will be made by the end of the month, we all must respect that.”
